How to Clean a Mattress to Perfection

A good mattress can give you a pleasant experience
and comfortable
nights. Who does not like to relax on a comfortable mattress
after a
hard days work? However mattress care is required if you want it to
last and give you good service. How to clean a mattress

for it should not be difficult but who really knows how to do it?
Cleaning and caring for your mattress
should not be difficult. Every
six months, flip your mattress over. This is to provide even wear. Flip
the mattress so that the top is now on the bottom, and turn it so that
the foot of the mattress is now at the head. Depending on the size of
your mattress, this can easily be a two person job.

between cleanings. You may also want to consider purchasing a mattress
cover to protect the surface of your mattress. Choose a washable

vacuum your mattress.
Dust, dander and mites can build up in your mattress. Even those of us
without allergies can begin to notice dust and dirt in our mattress.
Vacuum your mattress using the
upholstery attachment on your vacuum
cleaner. If someone does have allergies in your home, you may need to
vacuum more frequently and/or purchase mattress covers.
If there is a stain on the mattress, it is very
easy to clean up when
the stain is fresh. First, try the mildest solution. Mix up some "dry
suds" using 1/4 cup mild powdered detergent in 1 cup warm water. Now
beat with an egg beater or whisk until suds form (they should look like
whipped cream), then apply suds to mattress stain with a sponge. Wipe
with a sponge dipped in warm water and wrung out. You can use an
upholstery shampoo to remove tougher
stains. Follow instructions on the
product. This is the best tip on how to clean a mattress.
Blood stains are however a different proposition. You can Use hydrogen
peroxide to battle blood stains. First blot the stain with a white
towel from the outside in as it begins to bubble. Continue until blood
no longer seeps onto the towel. Some blood stains may be impossible to
remove. Be careful however as Hydrogen peroxide can bleach the color
from a mattress. Spot-check before using.
